Course Description
Coating manufacture is challenging. This course will provide gains in understanding in selecting and processing raw materials, compositional ratios of raw materials, and concepts in coating volume and mass relationships. Developing suitable formulations requires specialized knowledge of structure-property-performance relationships, processing variables, raw materials, substrate-coating relationships, regulatory limits, customer cure capabilities, coatings calculations, environmental conditions, testing protocols, and a variety of practical troubleshooting skills. The hands-on examples and lectures are coordinated to provide a quick but comprehensive overview of the fundamentals.
Who Should Attend
The Coatings Fundamentals is a one day add on short course organized through five lectures and four laboratory experiments. Coordinated to develop the thought process before taking one of our two-day courses. This cursory course is ideal for new technically competent entrants in the coatings industry.
